Dayna C. Cooper Defeats University of Michigan in Trademark Dispute

After 18 months of litigation and hundreds of pages of documents exchanged, none of which provide any evidence to support University of Michigan’s allegations of use, Dayna C. Cooper, Esq. defeated the University of Michigan in a trademark dispute before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to defend the trademark rights of a small Atlanta-based web blogger. This successful defeat will require that the University of Michigan cease and desist all infringing use of client’s mark (and any substantially similar variations). Further, it will permit Cooper Legal’s client’s registration to proceed to registration, so that client may continue use and promotion of the client’s brand.
